Village of Telkwa - Things to do

Do you enjoy skating or a game of shinny hockey? Telkwa has two outdoor skating rinks, Riverside Rink and Woodland Park. These rinks are free to use and benches are provided. They are open to the public for daily use until 11:00 p.m. each evening. The ice is maintained by a dedicated group of community volunteers.

Directions to Riverside Rink: Turn south off Highway 16 onto Hankin Avenue at the pedestrian crossing. You will see the Bulkley River straight ahead. Then turn right onto Fifth Street and pull into the parking lot overlooking the rink and the Bulkley River.
Directions to Woodland Rink: Turn south off Highway 16 onto Hankin Avenue and stay on this road it will take you across a bridge and a set of railway tracks. Continue to follow this road, now called Coalmine Road up to the top of the hill and turn left onto Woodland Street. Approximately, 300 meters down Woodland Street you will find the Woodland Park Skating rink.
