Bus

Greyhound Canada runs two coach buses per day going east and two coach buses going west along Highway 16, all of which can drop you off at the Telkwa Post Office. For schedules, check out Greyhound Canada's site, or call their toll-free number at 1-800-661-TRIP.

Rail

VIA Rail operates "The Skeena" passenger train, running from Jasper to Prince Rupert and back again, with stops in Prince George, Smithers, and many other communities along Highway 16. VIA is a national network with connections from various Canadian cities. Visit the VIA Rail website for schedules and fares. VIA, however, does not travel north-south through BC. Depending on your town or city of departure (such as Vancouver BC), travel by BC Rail to Prince George and transfer to VIA Rail heading west to Smithers. You can also arrange to travel from Prince George to Smithers by rental car or bus.

Car

Drive west from Prince George for 350 kms (expect 4-5 hours). Driving directions & maps are available.

Plane

The Smithers airport is about 20kms from Telkwa. Air Canada partners operate flights from Vancouver and Prince George - see Air Canada's website for schedules and booking info. Rental cars are available at the Smithers Airport.
